V Govindasamy Naicker must have been a madras based vidwan is my best guess . He has played all the early celestial greats like Mazahavarayandal Subbarama Bhagavatar, tiger varadachari ... then ariyakudi, semmangudi , mmi and then towards his fag end of his career with DR M Balamuralikrishna and Madurai Somu. Quite a roster list of vidwans.

For the very little I know of govindasamy naicker , certainly Govindasamy Naicker had melody in his bow. I am making a guess that he was based out of Madras (he was not a tanjore or palghat import in 1920's). His gurus are Rathinavel Pillai and Villivakkam Narasimhachari (with that assuming he was stationed at madras).
Govindasamy Naicker was a quick learner and by the age of 12 was ready to perform. His first stage performance happened in 1928, when he accompanied Chintadripet Thiyagaraja Pillai. I remember our DR VK Vishwanathan telling a lot about his accompaniment with Madurai Mani in private with me. If some old timers like MKR sir can add more about govindasamy naicker that would be nice .
