We all know of Dikshithar's intelligence and expertise on religious/musical matters.
In this particular kriti, I was awestruck by the beautiful raga - kannadabangala and the deity on which it is composed - rEnuka dEvi ambAl.
In the lyrics of this masterpiece, there is a line that goes like this:
"paraSu rAma janani"

Why is Goddess rEnukA dEvi the mother of Parashurama?

Also, another line that was different was:
"kONa traya vAsini".

What is the significance behind this line? "kOna traya" means triangle. Why does the goddess live in a triangle?

Any religious expert please explain. Sorry for my ignorance on these subjects.

Parasurama was the son of Sage Jamadagni and the Renuka (a daughter of a King). There is detailed information about Renuka Devi at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renuka
