manikand28, thanks very much. I will have to definitely spend more time at your site, there is a lot of good stuff there, all done very well.

I listened to the Sruthi Bedham podcast. Vidya Subramanyan has done a great job in translating the melody to swaras in Nattakurinji and then the transposed swaras for Neelambari. I sort of relate to what her approach is, but in all the three snippets, I hear only neelambari. And, I felt that at the trailing end of the first snippet, I heard Nattakurinji. May be that is when Lalgudi was getting back to Nattakurinji after the sruthi bedham stage is finished.

May be we need a prequel snippet of when the alapana was in Nattakurinji to complete the demo.

Also, during the sruthi bedham, was their a accompanying vioinist or a sruthi box providing a steady tone of the Nattakurinji Ma?

Listened to episode 21 on the same topic. There I can hear Mohanam and Madhyamavathi distinctly. As Vidya explains, the oscillation of the original Pa when sung as madhyamavathi Ma makes a huge difference.
