Mohan,

I came to know that you are presenting a paper at the Amsterdam conference. Could you please share your presentation and your experience with us after the conference?

Thanks.

I am thinking of attending it for a couple of days, I live in the UK and can get some cheap flights to Dam. As I can only attend weekends, I was thinking of some carnatic concerts.

The main banner says SS but the text says TNS on the 22nd Nov, any one know for sure?

I saw that too Mahesh and was equally confused! Be it TNS or SS, it should be interesting. Lalgudi Krishnan and Vijayalakshmi are also listed to perform at the festival.

I might be around yes, and I am particularly curious to see what value the organizer of the concerts appends to having proper tanpuras, if at all. Through inside 'consultants' and by direct approach it has been made known that I'm available to assist in any practical way to provide good instruments and accompaniment for the various concerts and the Raga-night but as of yet nothing has come of it.
.
As I took part in a debate on Omenad, I was made aware of the conference by one of the editors, who is trying to coax me into writing a contribution, the overall usefulness of which undertaking I am presently pondering, which is halfway doubting very much and considering. Sometimes I feel cynical about the whole thing - sic transit gloria mundi and all that .

Very true. I just need to convince my wife or the Dutch Emabassy to give her a visa :) Oh then there is the boss ... If I do manage to book something, will get in touch with you. Very much look forward to seeing you, I have been following your webesite since 1998 [End IIRC] when there were almost none for carnatic music.

I just took out the printed programme book, on 22nov. 20.15, Ulhas Kashalkar/ TN Seshagopalan.
Most evenings are double bills, like Sunday 16 nov. 20.15 Gundecha Bros/Chitravina Ravikiran, split in one before the intermission, the other after

Mahesh - look forward to seeing you too!
