Vittal Rangan

Post by rajeshnat »

Vittal Rangan is the disciple of A kanyakumari and he has also learnt from RR Kesavamurthy. IIRC,T Rukmini learnt from Kesavamurthy. Personally did not know that Vittal Rangan cousins are Saketaraman and VisakaHari.Vittal Rangan is surely a star in the making , he personally adapts and gives a great sunaada press and is a surely a great talent who will be spoken much more as he is just 25 right now.

Write up on Vittal Rangan that came in The Hindu - Friday Review dated Jan 31st,2020.

Vittal's mother is a very good singer - name Chitra Bilvam.

Vittal is a CA.

Vid. R. R. Keshavamurthy was a maha vidwan and a strong rival of T. Chowdiah and he also played the seven-stringed violin. He was also a disciple of Vid. Bidaram Krishnappa. (Rallapalli and Blr Nagaratnamma are others).

Vittal can produce exquisite tonality. He seems the favourite of lady musicians also. He can essay ragas with great manodharma. His constant smile and very sensitive accompaniment mark him out as a star. He seems to be also VERY busy these days 😀

Vittal Rangan very accomplished and sought after Violin support these days.60 Concerts in Chennai just concluded season.
Student of A Kanya Kumar who has produced many violinists now on the center stage.Looks like he has already taken away slots of some senior vidwans in the accompaniment front. His family shifted from Bangalore to chennai due to possibly better visibility to musicians and organisers.very good stage mannerisms add to his strong accompaniment skills.
