Looking at the notation online, it doesn't seem to be correct.
http://www.musicalnirvana.com/script/sh ... x?id=34551
(first line itself looks wrong to me... )

If someone could send a URL that has the correct notation or post the correct one that would be great.

Also, is there an mp3 of someone's rendition available?

Thanks much.

Lji,
Some fixes (not corrections exactly!)
nAc rahi gOri = (thus) the beauty (gOri) aka gOpi is dancing (nAc rahI)
bAjE(a) pAyal kahE/kahUn = the moving (bAjE) ankle bells (pAyal) say/are saying (kahUn)
tAn gAvE = the tAn (tAn is a tone) are singing thus:
padumanAbh tumhArI lIlA kyA kahUn mein sAnvarO = Oh padmanAbha, what (kyA) can I (mein) say (kahUn) about your (tumhArI) antics (lIlA) my dusky one (sAnvarO)
tAp sankaT SaraN AyO sOh hamArO tum harO = I seek refuge in you/have come to you for refuge (SaraN AyO) carrying my pain (tAp) and problems (sankaT). Can you (tum)please destroy (harO) my (hamArO) sorrows (sOh)?

This is one of the 3 tillAnAs Smt MSS has rendered. I am sure there are many versions of this available. Smt. MLV has also sung this.

Ravi,
Your translation of 'dusky one' for 'sAnvarO' is perfect!
But for his celestial credentials, the dusky one would have been a husky too, considering his penchant for butter! D'accord, doc?

RShankar,

I heard that from SSI. More specifically I read it from an interview.

:D @ Arasi! Husky indeed, with carotids and coronaries I would not care to speculate on!!!

Thanks for that information, Krishna! Do you know if this was ST's original choice of rAga for this tillAnA?

rshankar, I have no idea about that.

arasi, reminds me of nampiLLai words for kaNNan - asOdai kaNNanukku tayiraiyum veNNaiyum tandu mosumosuppai yERRi viTTAL. Meaning yaSOda has give so much curds and butter that He looks very chubby. May be puffed up would better word. :D

I believe the name listed is dhanAsari , but with no indication of the swaroopa of the rAga.

Is the pallavi line correct:

"gItta dhumiku takadhIm krtatattOm nAc rahi gOri tAdhittai tai tattai tirataka "

I think there is a problem with the fourth word above.

Mohan,

I have heard it as 'dru dru ta tOm', unless 'kr tata tOm' is also appropriate as a 'Sol'

Lji: that version on musicalnirvana just CAN'T be correct - according to that version the gOrIs are napping, not dancing!
