AFAIK, puNyAhavAcana or "auspicious recitation" refers to the preliminary sanctification rite comprising invocation and 16-service (shODaShOpacAra) pUjA to varuNa the guardian of the oceanosphere, in a pUrNakumbha (bedecked waterpot) followed by recital of the "pavamAna" mantras. At the completion of the recital, varuNa is bade farewell to His abode and the water from the pot is sprinkled around the place of worship. The pavamAna mantra is available on this page: http://www.sanskritdocuments.org/doc_veda/doc_veda.html.

Other than this, for those interested in vAstu perform the pUjA (nowadays the abridged vAstu ShAnti: http://www.vaastuinternational.com/vaastushanti.html) followed by navagraha pUjA and hOma. Then by one's resources and time, gaNapati or caNDi hOma can be performed.

Maybe other posters can offer their opinions on the subject as well.
