KANAKAANGI-the first melam.

The firsr Melarangam KANAKAANGI( also know as kanakaambhari)is rarely heard one.With all Suddha Swaras it has a telling impact on discerning rasikas and vidushis.

The piece Brahmma vishnu Maheswara amsanE in kanakaangi ragam is quite amazing.Mrs.Raji has has paid her obeisance to the acharyaa in a fitting manner.The lyrics suggest for themselves the depth of devotion the composer has towards the revered GURU. really great !

Is the kriti "Sri gananaadham bhajaamyaham" which is attributed to saint tyagaraja in kanakaangi? some ppl even said it is not composed by him but someone attributed it to him. is that right?

Sir, Yes u are correct.The controvercy still persists Even Gaanamurthy, Needu caraNamuley(simhendramadyamam)are said to be not belonging to Thyagaraja.
