I came across this raga by the name " Ravana Priya" with the scale

Aa | s r g m p d n S ||

Ava | S d p m g s ||

This is the Janya of 8th Mela , Hanuma Thodi.(Ref. TA Sambandamurthi Achari ).

As the name indicates, was this a popular raga of Ravana ??

Request, Vocalist/Instrumentalist to give swaroopam for this raga and it can be u/l.

Maybe, but the 'hanuma' was added as a prefix to 'thodi' to match the katapayadi schema used to codify melakartha ragas. Similarily, the Dikshitar school calls it janathodi.
