This has probably been asked before but I would be extremely grateful if someone explained (or provided links to previous posts explaining) the various facets of what is going on in the percussion side during a concert with audio samples if possible.
Thank you,
Shibi

Here are some links:
"Idiot's Guide to when to pick the song back after the thani": http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7264
"Structuring a Korvai in the thani": http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2359
There are probably quite a few other topics related to Thani in this sub-forum ( Thala and Laya ). The audio samples probably have all expired. When time permits I will find the ones I downloaded and upload them to a permanent place like soundcloud.com .

Interesting way to look at the thani. Thanks Mohan.
The author suggests getting help from "a knowledgeable friend, teacher or that veritable modern-day guru, Baba Googlenath. ", I guess we should add 'posting a question at rasikas.org'. That is how I learned some of what Swaroop Mamidipudi writes about.
