'Gurukulam'-Sri Sankara T.V.

Post by PUNARVASU »

Sri Sankara T.V. telecasts a programme called Gurukulam in the evening-between 5 and 5.30. Shri Srinivsan is the pandit who teaches various slokas to a group of children. It is a very good programme and I really like the way he explains the shlokas to the children, giving the word by word meaning and telling them anecdotes connected with them.
In today's programme he has started teaching a collection of shlokas on Parvati and Shiva-ardhanari.In each shlokam, the first line describes Parvati, the second line ,Shiva, the third line brings out a comparison and the last line is a salutation to both. It is very beautiful.I am sure it will make a beautiful dance item.

It starts as :
'chAmpEya gourArdha SarIrakAyai
karpUra gourArdh SarIrakAya'
Not sure of the name as I switched on a little late; he was saying something like 'SivA-Siva stOtram'.
Googled for the same, could not get it.Will watch today.
