I recently heard about this kailasanathar temple.
This one is close to Chennai on the ECR near Parameswaramangalam village and
built during the 9th century AD by Nirbatungavarma Pallavan .
Interestingly, river Palar flows around the temple.

A friend of my brother has been working on renovating the temple. They had raised
some funds in the past couple of years in addition to his money and started the renovation.
They have run out of money and they are now on a fund raising drive to continue with the renovation.
