Bhargavi - the caraNam is a true dancer's prayer to the Lord of dance:
Oh mighty (parama) lord (ISA), the lord (ISA) of the world (jagat) who lives (vAzhum) in cidambaram (tillai), please appear (vArum) and admit me, who am dancing (ADum) to the rhythmic confluence of (ODu) cymbals (tALa), mRdangam (mELa) and sollus (jati), to your graces (ALa). Give (tArum) me the boon (varam) of offering worship (paNindu) at your (undau) feet (tAL) and living (vAzha) a life that filled with (ODu) art (kalai).

In this context (i.e.' dancing), tALam in addition to the 'clap' means the rhythm set up by the naTTuvanArs cymbals...Pratyaksham Bala wrote:Meaning of words:-
