What raga ( western song )?

Here is an Indian (CM) sounding song by Jeff Beck ( Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club 2007-Nadia ). Arasi sent me this. It is interesting to listen to.

What raga does this sound like? For the most part, especially the dominant melodic theme, I think it is fairly clear

not sure. Seems naTabhairavi scale based to me. For some reason reminds me of a hindi song (one of the handful I know) - and I could be wrong there too (beqaarar dil..)

I just love this melody from yore and was told it was Bagesri but does not sound so but an HM expert may identify the raga...

Thank you CML for that oldie! To me, Jeff Beck's playing ...., and here too in Asha's singing, if you snip away the embellishments, it is 'tunbam nErgaiyil yAzheDuttu nI inbam sERkka mATTAyA?' to me.Or, that's how I hear it.

Jeff Beck's one sounded like Desh to me as well. Asha's? I am not sure. CML, you posted it to point out the similarity to the JB one?

Yes, you guessed right. He knows I am very fond of Jeff Beck's music and sent me this saying thatthe tune was familiar to him, having heard me sing something like this.
Yes, the instrumental part of Manna Dey's song is similar to Beck's.
