It all goes to show the urgent need for a dress-code for our Rasika Members, so that they can be identified in the crowds. Right now the only person everyone can identify is our coolkarni. He cannot be around to make the introductions to everybody though he himself may not know many of us. The other one is arasi who is easy to spot by her Regal carriage :)

Folks come up with a dress code (of course not necessarily the 'pink kurta' :) to avoid future Comedy of Errors :)

In the meantime have a great season-experience and share (pictures and clips) liberally with us unfortunates struggling under a snow-storm.

I think it's pink-turban time.

Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Msakellaji was at Woodlands since 9.30 am . I couldn't make since I was not feeling well. He called me up atleast 3 times and I tried my best over phone to get in touch with rasikas likely to be around that area but nothing worked out. He left without meeting anyone at around 11 am.

Once of the worst planned meetups.

My personal feeling is that, if this forum is the only communicating medium and again on a PSEUDONYM
probably all that we can do is discuss some music , check what is wrong with certain people in certain pitch etc,

it is impossible to organise a get together with this abstract acquintances.

So willing members should be ready to share phone numbers and identify themselves. give their personal email within rasikas. there there would be no problem like "" I saw the messages late". I would help us to get acquinted during concerts.

So should we start a thread with a VERY BASIC info like name , gender , place of residence , age , email id and probably a photo link?(this is more than enough) How many are interested?

1.Start a new thread called MEETINGS OF RASIKAS DURING THE SEASON All meeting info should be posted there.
2. The main organizer should clearly post the Date, Place, Time, Duration, If breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper are being shared or provided, Very clear directions of getting to that place (assuming Rasikas are Chennai-ignorant) , any special highlights of the meet
3. Those who cannot attend may, but need not respond but those who are sure should respond stating if there will be any delays . Optionally they may wear the 'pink Turban' recommended by Nick for easy Id :)
4. If there are change of plans or cancellations do post at least 24 hrs in advance since there is nothing worse than turning up and getting disappointed.
5. Lastly keeping us remote participants in mind do take some pictures (possibly audio of serious discussions (light banter too welcome) ) to spread some sunshine in our lives during the season! Some of the interesting topics can be further discussed by all of us and shared over the Forum.

Thanks.
Have a Happy Season Experience!

I am starting the thread on your behalf

Was nice to meet Vijay, Ravi and Ranjani at the Academy on Sunday. Hope the plans fo 24th can firmed up soon - I should be able to attend and can be contacted on 9003 039 584.

The DKJ lec-dem was very nice. In the evening I went to TVS at Parthasarathy Sabha and he gave a energy filled concert with detailed expositions of Kalyani (Nambi ketta, Puranandaradasa and Kharaharapriya (Rama niyada).

Not impossible, it has happened, and I expect it will again. This meeting went through a number of changes right up to the last minute.

It is a big pleasure, but not a big deal, to get together on an adhoc, who-ever-turns-up basis --- but there must be a certain time, a specified location and perhaps a king-pin person around whom to gather.

We've done it before, we can do it again!

I'm not in favour of putting such information in public. If I could turn the clock back a few years I would never have joined several forums under my real name. It is not that I mind my fellow members knowing; it is that it is free-for-all to the world, including even all the machines gathering information such as mail addresses, phone numbers, and so on.

By the way... I think it is not widely known that, if a member has a current email addressed registered on this site, they can be emailed by clicking on the member name.

Hi, brothers & sisters, Having met some of our brothers and sisters at Chennai today morning I have returned. Of course, I could not meet some of them due to some communication gap. Our meetings are already distined and nobody needs to feel bad for the shortcomings. We shall all remain optimistic and hope for the better next time. amsharma

I too apologize although, since I only arrived that morning, I met Ravi, Mohan and Rajani more by accident than anything else! Anyway at least I could meet Sarmaji at the Ashok Nagar concert. Hopefully next time we can organize ourselves better.

Based on the feedback my suggestion is that we meet on a weekend afternoon. Lunch (not at the Sabha since it is chaotic - a party hall at Woodlands or similar would be best) followed by a chat/jam session at someone's place if anyone can volunteer...27th/28th look like good dates to me

Thank you for that thought, but my apologies anyway: I was so close to seeing you.

I saw Ram at Music Academy, we talked for a couple of minutes, then he said you were there, so we looked for you. You must have gone to Woodlands just ahead of me, and we missed by a whisker. I was not only off beat, I was following the wrong talam.

If I had followed your talam, as I should have been, I should have arrived happily at Samam!

In my younger days, while rendering Svarakalpana, I was struggling very hard to arrive at Samam and easy to Karvai which is quite reverse funnily.
