Palani M.Subramania Pillai - Birth Centenary Celebrations

Dear Members

Palani Shri.M.Subramania Pillai Trust and Narada Gana Sabha Trust Chennai is organising the Palani M.Subramania Pillai Birth Cenenary Celebrations at Narada Gana Sabha on 11th may 2008 from 3.30 PM Onwards.

The programme is as follows :

3.30 PM Nadaswaram
4.30 PM Playing of audio clippings of the Maestro

These two above programmes are at Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall

at 6.00 PM Narada Gana Sabha Main Hall function will be held.

Shri. N Murali, "The Hindu" will preside over the function

Shri.M.S.Ramanujan, Postmaster General will release the Special Postal Cover on the occasion and
Shri Krishnaswami, Secretary Narada Gana Sabha will receive the same.

During the occasion a Website on Palani M.Subramania Pillai is also proposed to be launched.
Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna will formally launch the website.

Dr.Balamuralikrishna, Dr.T.K.Murthy, Palghat Shri.R.Raghu and Lalgudi Shri.G.Jayaraman have consented to share their thoughts about the maestro on the occasion.

Guruvayur Dorai Sir will welcome the gathering and Shri.K.S.Kalidas, (Disciple Palani M.Subramania Pillai and Trustee) will deliver the vote of Thanks.

After the Grand Gala Function there will be a Grand Carnatic Vocal Concert by :

Shri.M.Chandrasekaran - Violin
Trissoor Shri.C.Narendran-Mridangam
Shri.B.S.Purushotaman-Kanjira

I request the rasikas to consider this as my personal invitation and attend in large numbers to make the function a grand success.

The Gurupuja also comes in the Month of May 2008 which is scheduled to be held on 28th May 2008 at Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall.
