Dear forumites of singapore,
it has been decided to arrange a gettogether of forumites at singapore either on27th april(sunday)or1st may08thursday.the following members,Ramarama,das,bilahari, kaapi,,kamalamba,
vani, krishnarasika , bala747, and other members are requested to give their views regarding the dates .the function will be hosted by jananee at her residence,the address and phone number of jananee will be intimated after confirmation of the meeting gobilalitha

Arasi,. I sent a mail to jayaram asking him about ramaraj. expecting his reply, reply awaited. meanwhile, jananee((vidhya) left for chennai today. have asked her to enquire about ramaraj's progress. he lives opposite to jananee's house. expecting her reply witihinthis week enjoying yourself at cleveland? how was the performance of Ashwin and rohin.their mother Lakshmi is my cousin,chittappa's daughter . I heard from Sri Ramraj's son a few days back and also spoke with him. He is recovering very well and hopes to be back soon. However he has been advised to take it easy for some time.

Where are the reviews? You reviewers in Chennai and other cities aren't bringing in any reviews. Cleveland is winding up this weekend. Hope you are going to be in Bangalore at least for a few days during the long Ramanavami season. The Bangalore bunch is going to be active, I hope...

Arasi and VKR, we are touched by the interest shown by you. vidhya(jananee for forumites) is very much at it now. the show went on for nearly 3 hours.. requires pruning and editing. may be postedin 2 or 3 days.. To quote Jananee"everybody sang uninhibited more for the love of music than to show of their prowess, a really endearing attitude. VKR, the snaps and selected songs will surely be posted . gobilalitha

yes, it is our desire that it shoud be a regular feature in the months to come. we still do not have a list of all the forumites of singapore. it will be a nice idea for the members themselves come forward. .members like jananee, kamalamba,krishnarasika will take the lead to arrange such functions regularly gobilalitha

Thanks to Balu uncle and Jananee, yesterday too was a great evening of 3 hours nonstop music. I attended the first get together too. Yesterday we had violin and mridangam other than the vocal by mrs. balasubramanian, mrs. bindu krishanan, mrs. vidhya (jananee), Mr. Mohan(kamalambal) and Mr.Krishnan. kamalambhal and Mr.Krishnan sang few malayalam songs . Looking forward for more get togethers .

Unfortunately I had leave early because of a birthday dinner. Mrs Vidya,thank you especially for hosting this event. I truely loved you renditions. I loved the Rasikapriya and Chamaram pieces that you sang in particular. I've only got a recording of Sudha Ragunathan singing it(Sadasharye - Chamaram - Rupakam). Pranams everyone.

My wife Bindu, son Ayush and myself really enjoyed the evening and thanks to Vidyaji for hosting. I felt encouraged by the interest in Malayalam semi-classicals and shall dig into my archives in future gatherings. Shall strive to do justice on the mridangam with whatever little skill (and the Grace of Goddess Saraswati) I have.

The Ashtapadi audio files (re-recorded by the whole group of ladies along with Lalitha Mami) are getting uploaded as I write this. Given below is the link to the folder. Thanks cmlover. We enjoyed hosting it as much as taking part in it. Thanks to GBL's visit to Singapore the meets started. He was the man behind the whole thing.. and like Nick said we are beginning to get ahead of others

I am a little preoccuppied with some shows and will definitely upload the audio tracks over the weekend. And yes krishnanrasika..next session we should def have a little more of malayalam songs..both classical n semi classical. It was a drive down memory lane for some of us and thanks for that chance!

I am sorry I forgot to mention that krishnanrasika rendered a popular malayalee folk song, well received by all. Jananee is doing herbest to post the snaps and songs very early, despite her other engagements., like assistigSYAMA in presenting PRAHLAD, the musical. on3rd may whichis an adoptation from theoriginal opera ofSAINT THYAGARAJA. the participants are over 50 students from various musical schools of Singapore . gob ilalitha
