Arasi,
If you are seeing the same page being rendered when you click the download link, try few more times. I usually get it on the third attempt. If you don't get it still, it might be a problem with your cookie setting. In that case, Check if the Privacy settings are set to Medium in the browser (Click on Tools -> Internet Options->Privacy, you should see a slider.)
Prashanth - I thought of listening to KVN all this month. These uploads have changed my mind.

Ramakriya,
Thanks for the help. I am listening to SringAra lahari now!
sbala, mahesh and Prashant too.
Our akella's violin is sweet to hear--his way of going along with the vocalist and filling in the blanks very smoothly is appealing. Some accompanists just stop or bow nonchalantly at such moments. Today's accompanists can learn from this teacher too, lessons in true anuSarNai!

Another delectable piece! THANKS!
In the ID tag for this track, the composer is spelled/spelt as Kingaraja (instead of Lingaraja) Urs...

Interestingly, bilahari, the violinist is Sri VVS. Here is the entire concert link from Sangeethapriya.

Thanks, prashant. I must listen to the whole concert. That track got me started on a NRK spurt and I'm now re-listening to the excellent concert that's also in Sangeethapriya featuring Tulasi Bilva, a krithi in Vachaspathi, pallavi in Bhairavi, etc with MSG. I'm particularly fond of that Kedaragowla rendition.
I had no clue who the violinist was for the Begada piece. But after listening to the vocal alapanai, I doubt I would've been blown away by the violin return no matter how good it might have been!

Haha. Nedunurigaru does set the bar incredibly high even for the best of the best accompanists like Sri VVS, Sri LGJ, Sri MSG etc...bilahari wrote: I had no clue who the violinist was for the Begada piece. That entire AIR concert was a superhit. I doubt if you could find a better rendition of Tsalagalla in Arabhi. Ni Chittamu in Dhanyasi was top notch too. Raghu Sir's brilliant accompaniment (especially for swara kalpana) just made it even better !!!. Nedunuri gAru must have been in some other loka that day:).

An exquisite neelambari (amba neelambari - ponniah pillai) which I recorded during my visit couple of years back. Absolutely melodious.
Ignore the recording quality.

Prashant
He sang for over an hour for me sitting in his easy chair completely relaxed but immersed in his music. Absolutely an awesome experience. He sang a super sriranjini (bhuvinidasu..) and spoke about the awesome renditions of yesteryear artists - Ramnad and SSI. If I am not travelling in the next couple of days, I will upload them. But this Neelambari for me had an hypnotic effect. Total about 10 kritis.

I think he has rendered both KaligiyundE and varamulosagi in kIravani ( I think the former was rendered in Shanmukhananda sabha mumbai a couple of years ago). In natabhairavi, he has rendered sri valli dEvasEnApatE (valayapatti nadalaya concert - 2007? - main item was surati, sri vEnkatagirIsam), but I did not like his version as much as I liked DKJ sir's version. This is available somewhere in sangeethapriya.org.

Dear All:
I have been following Nedunuri Garu for many years. He has sung Varamulosagi in many places including Mumbai but never heard him taking up Kaligiyunte. I would love to hear/listen to Garu's kaligiyunte if available. God bless you all. In fact he and Voleti Garu used to say they i.e., Varamulosagi and Kaligiyunte are twins. Voleti also IMO never sang Kaligiyunte. I might be incorrect also.
Regards
Guru

Yesterday was the Master's 82nd birthday. I spoke with him on the phone last evening. His benevolent inquiries, cheerful demeanor, devotion to the almighty, and reverence for the art and the vaggeyakaras, which prevailed as undercurrents throughout the conversation, reminded me again and again of Tyagaraja Swami's line: sangIta gnAnamu bhakti vinA sanmArgamu galadA. Those 10 or so minutes on the phone imbued my evening with peace and inspiration.
