Hello Rasikas,
I am here again after a long time. I usually don't post anything just read the posts.
I have one question . I learnt bharatnatyam long back. I remember the adavus and margam (except Varnam) but forget all about talam. Also I was wondering if I will learn any new thillana or padam from any DVD , Is it okay to perform it in any local programmes? I really wish to start the performances soon just for my satisfaction of performance. Will someone please let me know this?
Thanks in advance.

Some professional dancers are quite strict about getting their performance recorded for fear that other dancers will copy their original choreography.

However, if there is a commercially released DVD I don't think there are any issues with you learning the item and then performing it.
