Isn't she the famed Sri Hariharan's mother?

I have heard several performances of Alamelu Mami as a kid growing up in Mumbai. Serene classicism. Her rendition of some padams [moratopu / valapudasa etc] is really good. I might have some old recordings on spool. Will see if they are still around in the basement of my house.

Bharath,
The British Museum, as part of it's chola bronzes exhibition has brought out a CD 'chOla music' and one of the artist's featured is Alamelu Mani, IIRC.
