I was wondering how the 5 nadais are spread across the 9.5 beat cycle. If each beat is in a different nadai then why are there 9.5 beats ?

One execution of triSra nadai amounts to 0.75 aksharas and so forth for all the odd nadais! Could be why. But I don't know the Angas of Mahalakshmi tALA. Cannot speak for the total.

But 9.5 total can achieved with 2 executions of triSram (1.5) , one catruSram ( 1) , one khaNDam ( 1.25) , two miSrams (3.5) and one SankIRNam ( 2.25).
