Can anyone suggest a composition in Kannada on Lord Shiva that would be ideal for Bharatanatyam?

Try "chandra chooda siva sankara parvati" in ragamalika by Sri Purandaradasar. It is available on the Natyavedham cassette series for dance.

Sorry, can't do it since it is a commercial recording. It's a good idea to first go the website of Rajalakshmi Audio and click on the Arasi CD. You would see the lyrics posted there and then you would know if the song is suitable. You have a few now to choose from, anyway.

From the last line, it looks like purandaradAsar. From the words, IMHO it looks like the song will shine well in SankarAbharaNA.

One more song on lord shiva in kannada is Pradosha Samayadi Parashiva Taandava in the raga purvikalyani. It is available on the tape sung by Nagavalli Nagaraj of Bangalore

There is one on natarAjA in kannaDA in pUrvi kalyANi by someone you know on the forum! You will find it in the Arasi CD (Rajalakshmi Audio), sung by Sumitra Nitin.
