Good news from California :) Best wishes to Aarya, the worthy guru and parents too.

Rajesh,
Arya could be a girl's name too? A picture would help.

If my guess is right, what better than for the event to be held this month when the female of the species are celebrated. From Kanakambujam of yore to some very talented percussionists--Sukanya, Bhagyalakshmi and a few youngsters in recent times, we haven't had many women percussionists on stage. I am thinking of Sumangala in India (also a very engaging vocalist) and the very talented youngster (now grown up) in the US whose name eludes me now (Umayalpuram's student).

If not, Arya could be proud of his mother, grandmother and sister if there is one!
Again, best wishes!

Arasi ji,

I think the girl you are referring to is perhaps Rajna Swaminathan?

A couple of critical updates to this event:

**SPAC is dedicating this arangetram to the loving memory of Dr. Subrahmanian Ramamurthy of Chicago
**We are delighted that Cleveland Sri. V.V. Sundaram is the Guest of Honor for the event.
