Due to my distance from Madras (grrrr), I am unable to access that many resources in terms of music notations, which, as an instrumentalist, I rely upon. However, I found that there is a treasure trove of notations present in the music research library online. My questions are basically as follows:
1) How authentic and reliable are the notations?
2) Which books are good to start of on?
(I can only read Tamil and English)
Thank you so much in advance!

Re: Books in Music Research Library
The notations as as authentic as the printed books from which they have been scanned. As for notations it depends upon what you are interested in. If you have any specific requests please post them, one song per posting, in the Identification/transliteration thread. Thanks.
