Absolutely. I have intentionally mentioned it as the first differentiation over the other features. We want to eliminate the need for carnatic folks having to fumble with western note names and terminology whenever they use modern technology. Usability is a key aspect for us.
In fact, we are considering to have app interface in local languages (kannada, malayalam, tamil, telugu, etc.). We believe it makes a big difference to user experience. We think it is a mistake to assume that all users are just like us.

True. Some western tuners do support microtonal tuning. However, it is never designed for normal usage scenarios, but as an advanced feature (typically paid), targetting enthusiasts who are willing to spend time tinkering with long laundry list of settings to experiment with exotic tunings.
In our system of music, however, microtonality is fundamental. A carnatic student or professional should not be required to know about Just Intonation or Pythogorian Tuning and bend the app just to tune his or her instrument.
Shruti Carnatic Tuner is designed for carnatic tuning. Simply, Sa is Sa and Pa is Pa. No need for any kind of tinkering to get correct carnatic swara sthanas.

Thousands of carnatic musicians have found the app useful. Some of them were kind enough to reach out to us with their feedback which helped us to polish and evolve the app.
Please give it a try and let us know if you find it worthwhile.
Thank you,
Ananth Pattabi
