Concert dedicated to Bangalore Nagaratnamma

Chennai Fine Arts is organising a special address and concert commemorating the 134th birth anniversary of Bangalore Nagaratnamma, who constructed a samadhi for Saint Tyagaraja at Tiruvaiyaru.

She did not construct the Samadhi. The Samadhi was already there since 1847 January. Nagarathnamma built the shrine enclosing the Samadhi as also the Valmiki Mantapam to the east adjoining the Samadhi. Nagarathnamma's Samadhi itself is situated opposite to that of Thyagraja's.
