Music Concert-Shertalai.Dr.KN.Ranganatha Sharma -Singapore

Dear Friends,
Music Circle Singapore , in association with SIFAS, proudly presents a special Deepavali program featuring a Carnatic vocal recital by Shertalai Dr KN Ranganatha Sharma. He will be accompanied by Nellai Sri Ravindran on the violin and Sri TR Sundaresan on the mrudangam. The concert will be held at SIFAS auditorium on Saturday, 6th Nov 2010 at 10 am .This special concert will be dedicated in the memory of Alathur Brothers.
About Sri Sharma:
Shertalai Dr KN Ranganatha Sharma, fondly known as “Sharmaji” in the music circuits is a rare combination of a successful performer and musicologist. He is renowned for his scholarly approach to music, and works as a professor in Madurai’s college of Music. This disciple-son of Semmangudi's direct disciple has won many awards for expertise in ragam, tanam, pallavi and for vocal music from the Music Academy, Chennai, among other distinctions.

Exceptional concert. Sankarabaranam, Varali, Riti Gowla, Purvi Kalyani, Todi, I assume, there will be a full review from Bilahari.
in any case, we tried locating Nick, but did not see him.

Shameful admission...

Suddenly it was Sunday, and I realised I had lost track of the days.

I am sad to have missed this program, and more sad to have missed the opportunity to meet friends there. We returned to Chennai yesterday evening.
