You just need to enter the gates at IIT . Then it is a wonderful place to get lost .. something you are quite familair with.
The bigger problem is always finding your way back in darkness . But rest assured that you will always find a bunch of guys hanging around , looking for a lift .Mkae sure you drive slow , so that you dont hit a deer crossing the road.

enter through the main gate, and keep going down the road, don't turn right or left -- beautiful road full of banyan trees -- till you come to gajendra circle which is a roundabout with 4 large concrete elephants. its impossible to miss. to the right is the department of management. you can't miss it. there is a cafe coffee day almost next to it.

MT, be assured that I will drive slow: I guess the sun will have set by the time I get there, but still, it is a great place to see --- and I will think of the dear deer, not to mention the dear students too

behag, a couple of small corrections to the directions that you have given.

Nick and others who wish to know the directions.

enter through the Main Gate (on Sardar Patel Road) and keep coming down the road. Do not turn right or left anywhere. After about 2 km, you will see the Gajendra Circle (GC in short) which is a traffic roundabout with 2 large concrete elephants. It is the most famous and noticeable landmark on campus.

The road that you will drive down is called the Delhi Avenue. Just before you reach GC, to the left of the road is the Dept of Management Studies (DoMS). It is right next to the Stadium and opposite to the Bose - Einstein Guest house. There is small sign board on the road and also a huge display board in the dept building 'Department of Management Studies' at the entrance of the building and also present is a display as 'DoMS' which is visible in-between the trees.

The Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) outlet is right next to the DoMS building.

If you reach the GC, it is right there and easily reachable.

nick, in the map that you have cited in one your earlier posts, the 'you are here' sign is the bus stop near GC. The building marked as '5' is the Dept of Managament Studies.

For those who are interested, Doordarshan Trivandrum telecasts a series on Carnatic-Hindustani ragas, presented by Sreevatsan J Menon ( for carnatic) and Ramesh Narayanan ( Music Director and a Hindustani vocalist).

Timing is 10:00 pm on every friday, for 30 mins. This is not an educative series program, and not comprehensive, but interesting nonetheless.

This has been on air for last 3 months or so, hence many of the popular ragams are already covered.

Thats the best piece of humour !!! i have read in recent times? Though I do not wish to attribute any nationality or ethnicity , i am tempted in this case, as I find this typical of fine British humour !!!

sivapriya, I won't start the thread, as my love of Vedavalli's music is well known, and all I can do is re-iterate and repeat, whereas others can list and describe.

It is true, though, as I said to her at the end of the concert, that she had been in my mind for several weeks: I needed her concert!
