The author is Vidwan. C K Shankara Narayana Rao. The book was originally written in kannada and I believe it has been translated into English by one of his disciples.
C K Shankaranarayana Rao is now in his 90s and lives in greater Mumbai area. He has trained many students over the past 6 decades of his life in Mumbai.
