Sincere condolences . Krishnan Sir was a great person full of positivity and sense of humour . He has come to my home with Arasi . We have talked a lot . His drive for listening classical music and his support to his wife as a vaggeyakkara and as a loving husband and father is exemplary. I knew Krishnan sir worked in a leading company in both UK and USA. He is a voracious reader and he is extremely sharp and analytical . He must be a very early NRI settled in USA and many next generation Indians settled in that part of USA would surely miss him dearly. His annual exuberance visiting chennai during december season will be missed by many like me in chennai Personally for many years he has adviced so many things in his own smart story telling way. I know Krishan Mama was 86 when he passed away .

My condoleces to Arasi, their children , grandchildren and extended family .

Sincere condolences. I am shocked to hear this.

In fact, Arasi and I were just corresponding with each other offline when she reached out to me to offer her sympathies when my father passed away last month.

I am at a loss for words to convey my grief and condolences to Arasi on her loss of her husband. These days I very briefly scan the internet and have come to know of the sad news just tonight. I do remember her mentioning to me that he was the same age as me, but was not in good health to travel and hence she could not attend Chennai this past December season.
May the good Lord give her the strength to bear the loss.

I apologize for not acknowledging all of your kindly offered sympathies on Krishnan's demise until now.
K was my companion of fifty seven years, a good husband, father and an adoring and adored grandfather and he is gone. He was ailing for a while. My family is like any other family anywhere in the world now, dealing with difficult things at these trying times of COVID. We hope and pray for better times...

K was a very hard working professional with a deep sense of loyalty to his company which recognized his keen problem solving skills. He was a voracious reader all his life and loved music.

Cienu,
Thank you for your post to inform forumites and for the personal mail you and many others sent me besides.

Got some tribute information about Krishnan Sir that was in the web. I have personally interacted with him a lot , mama was deep and concise in any subject. His style is to patiently hear the other side and he comes out with great objectivity with his eloquence

Sreeni,
You had, as soon as you had heard the news, brought what Rajesh has now got on K in your post. At that time, it was too much for me to deal with it as post here. I had requested you to erase the link, you agreed, and it was done. Now that it's here, and since Rajesh knew him, and K was really fond of him, I suppose I have to accept it. After all, we live in a world which has communication as its foremost mantra.

The IBM Red books referred to in the Obituary are something we are fond off, for their systematic organization. In the first decade of 2000(s), when IBM software products were in use heavily in the Industry, Red books came in handy as a reference. But open source has dented their use significantly. I have some in my library. Cherishing to know that somebody close to this community was indeed behind those!

It would be interesting to know the pUrvIham a bit, the village and places etc , where he lived through.

That was our generation - though he is older than me by a decade. The mainframe systems IBM 1401, 360 and PDP with machine language and earlier binary coding - there is no better way of learning development of program logic. Now typing this in a palm sized phone, looks as if we belonged to Neanderthals.

Dear Arasi madam,
I am very sorry to hear this extremely sad news.
May Uncle's atma rest in peace.
I remember having a very nice conversation with him; you may recollect we were in the same flight from London to Bangalore in December 2015. He was full of life and excitedly showing me things on his iPad with a child like curiosity and desire for problem solving.
I hope you also have all the strength to deal with these difficult times.
My apologies for reaching out late; I just found out about this sad news.
Sincerely
Mohan-Kamalamba

Mohan,
Sorry, I am tardy in responding. Yes, I do remember his enjoying your company. Your father's anniversary was on the next day, and then the concerts your family offered in his memory followed..
I thank you for your recollections.

Shankarank, Govindan and Ajit, to you as well...
