The Odeon Collection Online: early Indian records digitised

Post by Nick H »

Via Ars Technica (Some woman who writes as if singing in Urdu is odd or antique, but never mind that) I came across this:

Odeon record label recordings from the Indian subcontinent

Over 1,000 recordings, from the first half of the 20th century have been digitised in a project with the British Library and Indian private collections, and are available online at the British Library site.

Saw this flow by in one of my social feeds but did not know what to make of it. Is it the same as what we have known for quite a while with varsha's collections or Vikram's. Hope this is something more than that.

Picked up this blast from the past right away, thanks!
TNRP plays Varali and Begada in free-flowing style (TMK would have heard this :) )
