I'm so happy to have come back to the forum! I really apologize for my unexpected deleting of posts and leaving the forum. I had to do them for a purpose. Anyway, let us forget the past and move on!
Arasi,CML,VKR sir, thank you so much for the hospitality. I am sorry but the old and so called 'Relished Rapports' has been destroyed completely by me. Sorry for that. It is very astonishing that you all are asking me to write again! I don't mind writing a new series which is much more meaningful, realistic and short. I will do so soon.
Till then, let us discuss interesting musical issues! :)

Mr.Rajesh has been calling me almost every fortnight and I was in touch with him all these days. I am really looking forward to meet some of you at least in the music season this year!

Arasi, I promise(and this time I'll keep up the promise) that I will learn and present to you at least 2 of your fabulous compositions! Is that enough?? :D

Thanks, Srini, I appreciate that. You were very kind in writing such an awsome review about my songs and Sumitra's singing last year--a latter day sequel to Rajesh's write up about us soon after the CD release. Is
Mr. Rajesh as surprised as we are about your returning, I wonder. Mr.Spade doesn't give up that easily. Bless him!

Now waiting for the new musical episodes from you... too tired of savouring the iDlies R-T is dishing out :D

Gain two inches in height? How I wish! At this time in my life, shrinking in height is more like it :(

If there is no problem gaining two inches around the waist with all those iDlies and rasam in Eeya chombu why is it a problem to gain vertically :D

Hi

I am from Melbourne, Australia living here for the last 24 years. I am originally from Coimbatore -birthplace, but lived mostly in Delhi for nearly 26 years before migrating here.

I love Carnatic music and had the pleasure of listening to yesteryear veterans like GNB Madurai Mani Arikyakudi Seemangudi VV Sadagopan Mayuram Rajam Palladam Sanjiva Rao and many others.

My retired life is only spent on listening to music since yesteryears ....

Dear Sri CMLOVER, Thanks for your warm welcome.
I am in fact the youngest brother (the only brother) of Sri GNB. I am aged 75 and live in Mylapore. I will be sharing my thoughts with all the music lovers on Carnatic music and offer my help whenever required to clarify matters relating to my brother.

Dear Ladies and Friends!
Oh! Ladies are also Friends! I am K.R.Venkataramani(63), Retd. Senior Scientist from ISRO, an expert in Rocket Vehicle Antenna Systems (for all PSLV & GSLV Rockets). After retirement, I was working as HOD, IT Systems in a few engg. colleges and at present looking after family related issues. I am deeply interested in Carnatic Music (of courese, has some taste in Hindusthani also). I am an ardent fan of Madurai Mani Iyer and Lalgudi Jayaraman. My favourite Raga is Hindolam. My wife is an accomplished Musician. I, by chance, stumbled upon this site and instantly fell in love with it and became a member! I do hope with your participation & guidance, I can hone and expand my knowledge in Music as well as enjoy the sublime art at peace. Wish all you ,all members, a musically interesting & creative life. Hope to meet you often in this forum. Thanks. K.R.Venkataramani

Warm Welcome KRVRamani, there are lot of ardent fans of madurai mani and LGJ here and there are few rocket scientists here(few as more than zero ;) ,you will identify them as you browse and spend more time).

I was just curious when you say that you stumbled upon this site . May I know how you got to know about this site , Did any one refer you the site(if yes was the source word of mouth or a newspaper clipping or did some one refer you when you were in concert) or did any google search or internet browsing of other sites landed you to this site ?. Your insight of how you knew about the site will help all of us to welcome more of u folks.

Dear Sri Rajeshnat!
Thank you for your welcome words. I was actually not aware of the existence of this site, but used to frequently browse the site "sangeethapriya.org" to unload famous carnatic music songs. Of late, that site has got into some problems and in the google search for the same, I chanced to note somebody making some explanation and he belongs to this"rasikas" site and immdly. I entered stealthily into this site and got registered. I am yet to fathom the depth of this site, but am sure that I may have lot of variety food available to quench my desire. Best wishes to all of you1

Hello everybody. I have just joined this forum. I have learned Carnatic classical music for many years, but have lost touch recently. I search all over the internet for this one song, which I could not find in my old music books, 'maDi maDi maDi endu' by Purandara Dasa in the raga Behag. Finally, I ended up on this website and read some related posts, but could not get the song itself. I remember how the tune goes, but the lyrics have eluded me. If anyone here know the song, kindly post the lyrics.

Regards,
Abhay

Hello everyone,
I am a 21 year old university student in Toronto, Ontario.
When I was younger, I used to learn mridangam, but quit due to having to focus on my studies.
Now that I am freer with time, I have started to go back to the mridangam and learn once more.
Thanks
