If you can locate the audio clip one of us can transcribe the lyrics from that.

Thank you for answer 'Mahakavi'. Well, I don't have any audio clips of Nandi Chol but if you want there are 2 types of video clips in youtube (one is not clear to listen and the other is not the full version) this are the 2 video clips :

Thanks to help me :)

You are right. The longer version is not quite audible for the lyrics (because of the echo in the hall and the naTTuvanAr's stick makes the most noise drowning out the singing). The jathis are clear enough to follow.
In the second (shorter version), everything is clear from the jathis onwards. But it stops abruptly after the first line of the lyrics which goes as
"nIlakaNTa mahAdEva nikilalOkha jana pratAbha..."

Sorry, couldn't be of any help.

Hi Gajanifromfrance
The lyrics you are referring to are of a stuti called nilakantha mahadeva. Nandi Chol is just the preclude to this invocatory stuthi. The lyrics of the stuti are given here:

Thanks to 'Mahakavi' and 'Ksl' to help mee :)
I'm so happy !!
To 'Ksl' : Well, my Guru is Sri Thayalasingam. He's Adyar K. Lakshman master's disciple, so that's why most of the dance I learnt are in Lakshman master's choreography and Kalakshetra style :)
Now I'm 19...I started at 4 years old :D

Thank u soooo much to all of you :)

@ rshankar: It is a Dikshitar Krithi in Ragam Vasantha and Rupakam.
@Gajaniframfrance: Sounds wonderful. Happy Dancing! :)

Are you asking if there is another charanam in the video being danced to? I checked. There is not. I dont think there is another charanam in the sahityam either. (Googled dikshitar krithis)

Re: Nandi Chollu - Nilakantha Mahadeva

Hello all, I am trying to find more information on the composer of this item.

My understanding is that the 'Nilakantha Mahadeva' in Vasantha raga was composed by Madurai N Krishnan which was the song that followed Adyar Lakshman's Nandi Chollu and is widely peformed as one of the dance maestro's classic works today - the proper term being 'Nandi Chollu & Shiva Dhyanam' which is rarely used.

However, I understand this composition was interpolated from a krithi by Nilakantha Sivan - which I have since discovered was probably 'Nilakantha Nityananda'.

I have extracted both sets of lyrics below for comparison.

Can anyone confirm or verify this information?

What’s your source for attributing nIla kaNTha makAdeva, the composition in vasantA to Sri Krishnan and not to Sri Muttusvami Dikshta’s?

The song is by Nilakantha Shivan. Here are the complete lyrics:

nIlakaNTha nityAnanda. rAgA: Arabhi. rUpaka tALA. Nilakantha Shivan.

P: nIlakaNTha nityAnanda nIyE gatiyE
A: bAla candrashEkharA pArvati nAyaka dayAkara

.
A few typos :

P:
nIlakaNTha – nIlakaNThA

A:
nAyaka dayAkara – nAyakA dayAkarA

C1:
sadAshiva – sadAshivA
nin mala – ninmala
guNavilAsA - guNavishAlA

Thanks Pratyaksham Bala for the corrections.
If nIlakaNThA is the correct word shouldn't mahAdEva be mahAdEvA, and in C1, gangAdharA, nAgabhUSaNA, shankarA, guruparA as well?
