Post by S.NAGESWARAN »

Dear Rasikas,
Sri V.Balaji is the professor in the violin department of the Banaras Hindu University.
He is the son of late Sri Venkataramanujam, violinist [contempories of Sri MSG and LALGUDI].
He was working in the Delhi AIR.
After retirement, Sri Venkataramanujam joined the BHU AS A READER.

Sri V.Balaji learnt carnatic vocal and violin from his father.
He joined BHU to learn Hindustani music from Dr.N.Rajam and became her disciple.
He taught Hindustani violin to many disciples including Mr. Gilles Apap, a French child prodigy in western music in violin.

His first son is Sri B.Ananthakrishnan who is now playing as accompanist to many carnatic musicians.

His second son B.Anatharaman is studying in the12th standard and now a very good Hindustani violin music learning from his father.

You can see the video and listen to the Hindustani music, the violin duet by Sri V.Balaji and his son B.Ananthatharaman with the YOU TUBE LINKS GIVEN BELOW.
