U. Sultankhan No more

Post by DrKashyap »

My guru sarangi maestro Padmbhushan U. Sultankhan NO more. He breathed his last today after noon around 2 O'clock at his Mumbai residence. He was not keeping well for last few months & suffered a severe kidney damage. May Almighty rest his soul in peace. - Dr. Kashyap dave

Heartfelt condolences . His duet with Rais Khan(Sitar) , while playing Yaman Kalyan was a classic . Gives many answers to the Vina vs Violin debate . Certainly did his bit to keep the sarangi from fading into oblivion .
Sadly , the future of the Veena here , and the Sarangi there :) hangs in balance .
A worthy disciple of Amir Khan Saheb and a worthy Guru to the original poster here .
