The kalyANi Alapana was a special one. Eerily sounds like a kalyANi that SrI Lalgudi had played may be in Solo, but more so as a reply to Dr BMK. This one started not as a phrase based approach, not varjya phrases - say so would privilege arOhaNa / avarOhana over the rAgA. But more a "cycle of fifths" kalyANi, or vAdi / samvAdi kalyAni. With glides and touches sometimes resembling Dr BMK as well.

They took the dhAtu from how nidhi cAla starts and has such jumps (money goes up and down) in it's course.

And it is nice of them to perform with an upcoming Mridangist, reminiscing a Lalgudi/Karaikudi rendezvous.

Sri Kishore at times looked tentative with what best I can do here, trying hard to be apt. Experience, Experience no matter how much sollus one has up their sleeves.

The Violin duo Lalgudi Siblings have clearly emerged as front ranking Duet pair. Apart from just exhibiting what they have learnt from Lalgudi Sir,they have evolved a unique style of their own. Very lively exchanges are the highlights of any concert they play. Their concerts offer a breath of fresh air where many Instrumental concerts employ high decibel Volume. The songs they chose from a variety of composers.. I have been following their concerts from late 1980's and are very established duet pair. Excellent stage mannerisms definitely inherited from their lineage is always seen.
