A beautiful, blissful, sweetest, purest form of music.
Sadly none of the so called rasikas seemed to have picked it up...
Here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyEGmFWM7Qk&t=3048s
No gimmicks, simple presentation, no showbiz, .....
Nada Inbam seems to be the only sabha showcasing this great / lovely musician. Kudos to them for the taste to appreciate chaste music...

Heard the above concert. Thamaracaud Namboodiri,, in his usual unhurried style presented the Navavaranams. To be continued on another day. Pakkavadyams would have made it more relishing.

I doubt pakkavadhyam would have enhnanced the rendition.
The voice was serene, crystal clarity in rendition and soul stirring .... This is the kind of music that brings peace to the inner soul - not the lound banking of the drums, artist taking up a Pallavi to showcase the virtuosity and going up and down the raga scales ...

It is on the Naada Inbam listing, but yes, I completely missed. Watching now.
Brinda yesterday; Sumithra today... What bliss it would be to concert-going as in normal times. Thank goodness for the internet

One of the reasons for the readership going down in this forum

Nobody can argue with a position that music is serene and soulful and can be sung soulfully to whomsoever needs it. The term Pakkavadyam is wrong however , it is just that that is another type of music.
If one can review and critique based on handling of rAgas, same can be done for layam and tALam. That is all!
Otherwise there is nothing else to contest here!
Vidvat is not to be translated as display of Skill! Latter happens in today's popular exposure - especially when music gets to Jugals and other non conventional venues.
Vidvat is sharing of certain musical truths found in Sadhakam! Sadly new age spirituality has lost touch with ritualistic tradition on the one hand and on the other side, sampradaya sangeetham is dissected as "art"!
At least it should be viewed as part of our "Agama" tradition, a vibrant tradition, if not any grander philosophical view point.
Philosophical basis of arguing is only an extension of the same!
There is no argument against those that seek serene music to themselves. But @ram1999 you cannot be doing a bland comparison. You would have made a travesty of your blissful experience as well in that process.

He expects everyone to be omniscient maybe?? Or maybe he is one of the reasons?

Indeed a no frills serious music by Vid. Govindan Namboodari. Musicians from Kerala never disappoint me.
