A few days back, on Bangalore Radio Station, a very good recorded concert of T. K. Rangachari was broadcast. Vairamangalam Lakshminarayanan was assisting TKR on the vocals and Palghat Raghu on the mridangam. TKR sang a glorious Kalyani - Kamalambam Bhajare.

The violinist was one C. R. Mani Iyer and he gave a vibrant accompaniment. The tone of the instrument and the playing style reminded me of yesteryears' V. Sethuramiah's violin.

Does anyone know whose disciple this Mani Iyer is? Is he still active on concert stages?

Kindly post some information about this artist.

Very sorry to hear the passing away of a very good artist.

Thanks for the information, Radhakrishnan, and the leading reference to The Hindu's news item on Mani Iyer.
