Here is a beautiful excerpt of a concert by BV Raman BV Lakshman

http://rapidshare.de/files/5227306/BVR_BVL_0.mp3.html

http://rapidshare.de/files/5228486/BVR_BVL_1.mp3.html

Must have been sung for a very small audience..looks like a chamber music concert.A pity that I do not have the concluding part.

Hope all of you will enjoy!

BV Raman & BV Laxman

here is the concert track wise.

meena.yes it is a pity.but i guess that is the real importance of the awards- when the focus shifts back to such artists, making newcomers ,like me, sit up and search for more news/music.i would not have got this tape if i had not started asking all my contacts for their music after i learnt about the award.

May be this is too much to ask for, anyways, RapidShare really sucks. Why not consider using coolgoose or dropload ?

Guest

Post by Guest »

Posted: 18 Sep 2005 08:07

i tried dropload.
i can only send tracks to an email id.not likr rapidshare, where i get a link which can be posted on the forum..

coolgoose..can you tell us more about it.

kji
this is the site sbeashwar is refering too-
http://as01.coolgoose.com/music/category.php?id=15

sbeashwar is a newcomer, he too is feeling the fustration like we all expreinced at first :(

coolgoose i would give a thumbs down, not organized, the 'classical' clips one has to search in tamil/teleugu/classical etc.
most of the time to d/l a clip i get an error message.

well lets see what others have to say!

I support meena fully!

coolgoose is a last resort. That will be the way to get us all frustrated

Actually with dropload all you have to do is send the file to yourself and then post the URL that's sent to you for others to d/l.

With coolgoose you feel that it's the organisation that's causing the problem right, but we will not go by the directory classification while d/ling right ? we can go by the song # or better the URL. what say ?

in fact there are a lot of others, I will try to find somemore that are better or as good as dropload.

A dropload test, I don't have anything on carukesi, so I've uploaded this thambura sruthi clip. http://www.dropload.com/redeem.php?t=d1 ... 38fe23978d

sbeashwar

well cant d/l from the link u provided

"File Pickup
The file "shrutiBlow_0.mp3" was picked up on 2005-09-18 14:47:57. Please contact the person who sent you this link if there's been some sort of mistake."
--------------------------------------------------------------
What is Dropload?
Dropload is a place for you to drop your files off and have them picked up by someone else at a later time. Recipients you specify are sent an email with instructions on how to download the file. Files are removed from the system after 7 days, regardless if they have been picked up or not. You can upload any type of file, mp3, movies, docs, pdfs, up to 100MB each! Recipients can be anyone with an email address

--------------------------------------------------------
Well yet again the files will only be available for 7 days :(

so its back to square one- rapidshare!!!

The varnam is sparkling. Any luck in identifying the composer? Perhaps Lakshman can help?

I have no idea who the composer is but keep in mind that they are composers as well. It could well be one of their own.

You are probably right, Lakshman. I heard a varnam in Ranjani (if memory serves me right, the pallavi was "nee pada pankajamey") which I was told is their composition.

I have heard quite a few of their concerts and I noticed that they usually sang a new krithi in each concert. Some krithis like 'Sarasvathya Bhagavathya', I have heard only from them. Also the glittering ragamalika - 'mannum pugazh kosalaithan'.

Any chance of an upload of that piece coolji? :-)

Do you mean ranjini varnam...

Yes I have a concert which starts with that. Will upload it shortly. Please bear with me for a week or so.all stuff moved to bangalore for tagging, indexing, cataloging ( I have been forced to outsource )

I actually meant 'mannum pugazh' but I can live with both. ;-) Greed, greed, greed. :-)

No wonder Bangalore is the world's outsourcing capital; we are now outsourcing from Madras to Bangalore. :-))

Just came upon this. A friend of mine who is from the BVR-BVL family, told me that this varnam is composed by their nephew SV Seshadri. Apparently, he has several other compositions to his credit and is known to be a very knowledgeable rasika. I will try to reach my friend to see if I can get a list of his compositions.

If memory serves me right, I think he also wrote a piece in "Sruti" about the brothers under the title "The Bhavani Duo".

This is only tagential to this thread:
RDA's ability to attract quality talent never ceases to amaze me!

Palghat Rama Bhagavatar - IIRC, he is the grandfather of Smt. Roja Kannan and Dr. Meena Subramanian (both of them are reputed bharatanATyam dancers).
