In the last four to five years , I am trying to hear few musicians atleast once as these musicians are very very rare to be seen in concert circuit . Almost made it to all the musicians that i had in my mind excepting one . That is this musician V R Dileepkumar. This musician is based out of kerala ,few of my accquintances whom I meet in regular concerts at chennai (those who dont write in the forum but only read )have recommended a lot about this musician.

This musician appears as a very classy musician who appears very sidelined. Has anyone heard him live , if yes write and share few interesting things , both positive and negative about his music.

Are there any more recordings of his available in sangeethapriyA etc ?

Any commercial recordings that anyone has bought?

It looks even kerala is not giving enough chances to this v r dileepkumar.I dont see his names doing much rounds even there, possibly I may be mistaken.

Good to see your comments on VR Dileepkumar - Being a hardcore fan of him and as you correclty mentioned he is not getting the recognition he deserves, I tried to popularise him by uploading few concerts in Rasikapriya yahoo group (http://sangeethamshare.org) and many people responded to the group as well. However he is not yet popular in Madras music sabhas - he is as such busy in Kerala - If you are in Kerala then I may be able to let you know about concert schedule and you can attend one of them if time permits. thanks purist and raajuks , I downloaded two concerts in raj namboodari link , there is one kamalAptakula in brindAvana sArangA as a main(in folder 009 of the link) , that number is a top pick to me . His voice kind of resembles a bit of shri TV SankaranarAyanan, in the sense very male and a bit rough , very good open throated singer .

His guru is Mangad Natesan, well know performer and guru in kerala.
