nhmenon, here are the instructions:
1. go to one of the popular upload sites.
Examples are:
http://www.sendspace.com
http://www.badongo.com

2. Upload your files there (it should be fairly clear at each site)
3. Immediately after each upload, you will get a url link to the file. Copy and paste the link here.

That's all.

You could try just one mp3 file first, and post the link here, so that we can verify it works correctly - before doing them all.
We are looking fwd to the music!

One of the greatest ever without doubt. I was listening to an RTP in Natakapriya a couple of days back. His swara-gyaanam is absolutely stunning - combinations just flowing out at will! It is a rare Voleti alaapana that does not present some new glimpse of the other but to toy like that with Natakapriya takes supreme skill....and for the stuffy purists who often accuse him of borrowing from Hindustani, there is no rendition of Natakapriya by an HM artiste that I am aware of...

NH Menon could you let us know when you upload the concert - I am particularly intested in the Surutti...

I am a die hard fan of Sri Voleti . We just cannot help getting lost in his mesmerising imagination when he sings the alapanai - especially where he blends into the ragam sadjama - panchama varja patterns with Hidusthani touch. Listen to this thodi and enjoy .

A Gandharva reborn, he revelled in singing rakthi rAgas, Begada especially. He has sung several pallavis and the masterpiece - Sankari neeve in this raga.
He was the last word in singing bhajans and could confer them with the weight of Bade ghulam Ali khan's thumris. When he sang a meera bhajan or a sadashiva brahmendra piece; he conferred it with a sensuous melody and romance; fast disappearing from current treatment of Carnatic music. His effortless treatment of Maand, pahadi and revathi are unparalleled. The gentle giant never hankered for titles or awards, and his introspective music endorsed this attitude.

There is an interesting picture in sruthi of Oleti with pictures of his two idols in the background - Ariyakudi and Bade ghulam ali khan.

There is a live concert recording (Hyderabad concert released by Prasar Bharti!, not sure) which has an expansive raga alapana in revathi. An absolute masterpiece. The recording quality is not that great (drags a bit) but definitely a collectors item.
He was a great admirer of BGAK and Ariyakudi.
A GREAT ARTIST whom we lost when he was very young!

thanks padrenji;

about the telugu composition of sri voleti (khamas)..

i was surprised to see that this is the exact same lyrics of a private song sung by Sri Ghantasala, whose lyrics are given by Dasarathi (telugu movie songs composer). It starts off with a poem which goes like 'A rajanIkara mOhana biMbaMu..." followed by the song..
ofcourse ghantasala sings it in kalyANi raga.

lyrics (in telugu and english)..
http://www.ghantasala.info/newlyrics/lyr123.html

you can listen to it (657-Private Songs-044-talaninda)
http://www.ghantasala.info/allsongs/index.html

----------------------
btw, what is the raga of the sanskrit composition (chandrasekhara chandrasekhara)?

A notable aspect of Voleti's concert is that he sings without any 'goshti' (body mannerisms). Even the kriya (beats)for the tAlam is very mild .This is in sharp contrast to many of the present day vidwans and vidushis.

Krishna Moorthy, I think the word you are looking for is 'Konashtai'. Goshti, if I believe, means crowd.

'SAMPRADAAYA' - now located in Kalakshetra campus in Chennai has a great collection of Voleti's music.
One exclusive package is a concert of Thanjavur Ponnah Pillai's compositions.
Great music from Voleti.
I wonder why our youngstars do not lend ears to such traesures!

Recently I got some recordings of music lessons given by Shri Voleti over Vijayawada AIR decades back. Many of my friends had told me about the greatness of his teaching over the AIR. To my utter surprise, all the Navarathri songs of Swati Tirunal has been taught by him in the Radio.. It is like I chanced upon a treasure.

Sublime is a word thrown around for most concerts now, but that's the one adjective that comes to mind about this master. An AIR FM Gold concert at 1:10PM was my first listening experience to Shri Voleti. The 1:10PM slot is really eye-opening; they play all the past and present masters.

I'm getting to see what others have posted so far about Shri Voleti. The music just feels like a sparkling brook that's flowing through a lush green meadow, unhurried yet brisk, crystal clear, and with the freshness of mountains. Even the fast swaras come as a melodious cascade; there's no attempt to reach a shrill crescendo, as attempted by some prominent vidwans nowadays. His style feels very conservative, yet so distinctive in a subtle fashion. And his accompaniments always seem to mesh with that style so well.

I am seriously thankful to Rasikas.org members - through this site, I've had a chance to learn about and listen to some of the great masters.

Great treasures indeed! Thank you so much.
The Phalamanjari kriti is seldom heard today. It's extra special with Akella-ji's violin pakkam. Do you know which concert this is from, and who has played mridangam accompaniment?

See the ease in which he sings. Completely effortless, no unncessary mannerisms, no limb movements. Ariyakudi and BGAK have indeed influenced him a lot in his music delivery (crisp and precise).
The review of his 1986 concert at the Music Academy described his thodi alapana as the rapids of the Ganges.
Brilliant. His Sankarabaranam alapana is always top class.

Is it possible to get more samples of his renditions of pratimadhyama ragas please? I got the panthuvaralis, kalyanis poorvikalyani etc from spriya.
Would love to hear an elaborate dharmavati , simhendra madhyamam or shanmukapriya .
