Does anyone have the translation? I just got this song as sung by Ranjani~Gayatri and cannot find that info anywhere.

pallavi
EdayyA gati enakk-(EdayyA gatI)
Where (Edu) is there a refuge (gati) for me (enakku), Oh Lord (ayyA)?
anupallavi
mA dayAnidhi umApati sukumAra varaguNa nidhi nI tAn aladu vEr-(EdayyA gatI)
Oh mighty (mA) repository (nidhi) of compassion (dayA), the son (sukumArA) of Siva (umApati), repository (nidhi) of superlative (vara) character (guNa), if not (alladu) for you (nI dAn), (where is my refuge)?
caraNam
pEdai yenakkunnarul kATTAdu ennODEdayyA vilaiyATTA
bhUtalA-calanATa nin tAL tAn gati pugazh kavi kunjaradsanukku vEr (EdayyA gati)
What’s (Edu) the meaning of not showing/showering (kATTAdu) your (un) grace (aruL) on me (yenakku), a simpleton (pEdai)? Iis this a game (viLaiyATTA) you are playing with me (ennODu), my Lord (ayyA)? The firm/established (acala) one on the surface (tala) of this earth (bhU) pursued by me (nATA) [1], your (nin) feet (tAL) are the only (tAn) refuge (gati), (for, if not, where is the refuge) for me, the famed (pugazh) disciple/slave (dAsan) of the poet kunjaradAsan (kunjaradAsanukku)?
[1] IMO, fitting the rAga mudra here is a bit contrived – bhUtala + acala = bhUtalAcala; someone who is desired/pursued (nADinavan – nADA, perhaps) – written in tamizh, nADA and nATA would be the same; acala could also refer to a hill – given that murugan temples are on hills
I am hoping that Arasi/Rajani/Punarvasu and others can add to the discussion on the meaning of bhUtalAcala nATA....

Re: Notation for Edayya Gati - Chalanattai
IMO
nAtan (நாடன்)=one who belongs to a country or region
nAta vocative form = O, nAdu udayavare
bhutala +acala +nAta= " o! the one who reigns over the mountains of this universe, what other refuge do i have except...."
Even then, I agree with RAVI It is a bit contrived because the raga's name is chalanatta and not chalanata. But again in tamil ta becomes tta in actual parlance with addition of vetrumai urubu(possessive case) natu+nalan becomes nAttu nalan

This is the way the composer himself gives the meaning ;Ponbhairavi wrote:IMO
