this kriti is a kalpakam mami favourite. she plays it quite often, and on most occasions as the main piece of her concerts.

correction

eTu namminAvO. rAgA: sAvEri. Adi tALA.

P: eTu namminAvO manasA iNcukaina yOcana sEyaka
A: ciDukaNTi rOga pIDitamai ceDi kSINiNcE dEhamu sthiramani
C: maTTikuNDa kaNTE hInamainadidi mATi mATiki rAdu bhUmipai
vaTTi mOhamu jenducunu varada venkaTEshvaruni maraci

Meaning:

P:
eTu = how
namminAvu = did you believe
(namminAvu + O = namminAvO)
eTu namminAvO manasA = how did you believe O mind

iNcukaina = at the least
yOcana = consideration/ deliberation
sEyaka = without doing

A:
ciDukaNTi = painful (that which is painful)
rOga = disease
pIDitamai = troubled by
ceDi = deteriorate
kSINiNcE = that which decays
dEhamu = body
sthiramani = that it is permanent

P:
maTTikuNDa = earthen pot
kaNTE = than
hInamaina = that which is inferior
idi = this
hInamaina + idi = hInamainadidi
mATi mATiki = repeatedly
rAdu = does not come (appear)
bhUmipai = on earth

vaTTi = mere
mOhamu = desire
(j)ceNducunu = to enjoy (to cause to enjoy)
mOhamu + ceNducunu = mOhamujeNducunu
varada = bestower of boons (?)
veNkaTEshwaruni = of lord venkateswara
maraci = forget

'bhUmipai' = 'on earth' and 'dInipai' = 'on this'.
i think 'bhUmipai' makes sense in the first line of the charanam. as it is said: 'mAnava janma durlabhamu'.

further corrections welcome.

I have heard this composition rendered by GNB.

Something amazing with effortless speed and gamakas.

GNB my all time favourite.

He has given a new dimension to this composition.
