I am planning a trip, but should be back in time, and very much look forward to this. I regard Vijay Siva as one of those performers that just delivers the music without fuss and that's the way I like it!

@ rajaglan

I'd like the yk swarajati sung! I feel the bhairavi swarajati is too often-sung. I mean, not really, but compared to the other swarajatis and other Shyama compositions in general.

But with Shyama and Vijay Siva, the main could be anything.
---
Any idea who'll play with him just yet?

Agastheeswaran temple has atleast 100 to 200 year old history. Infact we had a big kumbabishekam a year back giving a great face lift to the temple . Apart from lord shiva , just like all temples in kumbakonam -mayavaram -thanjAvur area, you have akhilAndeshwari has the second diety.I will give the details little closer to the D day.

 ,
we moved from gemini side of nungambakkam (prasanna venkatraman)to valluvar kottam side of nungambakkam (bangalore shankar, shruthi jauhari, manakkAl) and now towards sterling road side of nungambakkam.

What is that year long festival of veena (does that mean we wont have vocal for a year cool)that you have mentioned , depending on your answer I will send you either a personal mail or a forum post.

The concert timings is 6:45 - 9:00 pm. The venue is the Agastheeswarar Temple , Nungambakkam.
The temple is very close to the Nungambakkam police station. Please use the police station as the landmark.

The venue is just opposite to nungambakkam police station.

When you come from sterling road junction to valluvarkottam before hitting the police station you have to turn right in the road (that road is quite big and there is a big fruit-vegetable shop) . As you turn right The temple entrance is very small lot of shops in front it would come within 50 meters towards left

When you come from valluvarkottam to sterling road once you see police station in the right , take the second left ,and towards the left you will find the temple entrance . Parking is very difficult , you can go further down the road and try it .

On a side note , my work is forcing me to attend on saturday a one day conference (which is a must attend for all), I will try my best to be for this concert, kind of 50-50.

This concert's accompanies are RK ShrirAmkumAr - violin and his brother manOj Shiva -his mridangam , perhaps the most close knit team. Vijaya Shiva in agastheeshwarar (Lord shiva) temple singing exclusive ShyamA sAstri must been an occassion for each of us to recollect for ever.

 and others ,
I have heard thru grapevine that Smt DKP has even sung a rare shyamA sAstri mangalam also in madhyamavati (this can be my request, ). In short everything from start to end can be an exclusive ShyamA sAstri treat.

Rajesh,
kaikku eTTiyum vAikku eTTavillai. You are so close and still may have to miss it. I hope not.
A true miss on all our parts. And the temple atmosphere too. Nick, though bleary-eyed with jet lag would enjoy it, no doubt.

I return at 3.30am that very morning! As long as I am awake, I will come to the concert, although having reached, I may need to be nudged if I start snoring!

Just might take an auto for once --- although I have to be surgically removed from my own car :)

The journey is always hard work, but I don't really change my hours between India and UK: my night-bird 3.00am bedtime just gets moved, not far from IST, to around mid-night in UK, so not too much jet lag!

Srikant, looks like what we guessed is correct. Pls note the latest thread on kutceries section. But just impressed by the enthu among people (people started discussing a month back) about this concert as he is one of my fav for a live concert.
