rshankar,
I think the word is 'aNdinOrgaLai'- meaning those who approached (you) and not 'ADinOrgaLai'.
'poR-karangaL'- golden arms.(pon+karangaL)

Punarvasu you are correct IT is ANDinOrgaL and not ADinOrgal (LOL) Thanks!
I was told that pon/sen while literally meaning gold/red refer to beauty/comliness and not color...

rshankar, reg. 'pon' what you say makes sense; but I thought we can explain this way also by splitting this so that the word is understood better.It can be explained as 'beautiful hand as if made of gold'.
Moreover it is not always the case-like in 'poRkAppu- pon+kAppu-gold bracelet'
Reg.'sen' in a compound word it could also be 'semmai'-good;
but 'sendaNal'- refers to the 'red ember'.
Only while translating as you do here, we pay attention to many words; in a way it is a good exercise for us.

If you can post at least the starting words of the Sloka someone may be able to identify it. The rest should be easy.
