It was a splendid concert and the elaborations of the ragams VaraLi.bilahari and kharaharapriya were simply astonishing. The swarakalpanas and neravals were also reflecting the enormous knowledge of the wonderful artiste. Sri Sriramkumar on the violin need not be mentioned specially as everyone know how wonderful a violinist he is. He was mind blowing. On the whole the entire concert was a superb one
This concert is organised by Sharadha Cultural Trust in Hyderaabad an All MahiLA sabha in which only women organise the concerts. Yesterday's concert was by Sri TMK and as per my friend's info The ragas dealt were arabhi, karnataka kApi,kaLyaNi. RTP was sung in sALaga bhairavi

The song goes tiruvAzha tiruvAzhicchangam vAzha tiruvananthan sEnayattOn garuDan vAzha. All it is known about this song is that it was composed specially for the concert of Smt MS for the SrIrangam ranganAthasvAmi kOil samprOkaSNam (kumbAbhiSEkam) after the rAjagOpuram construction in 1987.revanthv552 wrote: 10.tirunvaazha tiuyAzhi-ragamalika-??

This was not composed in 1987 but somewhere around 1780 AD. This is a compilation from the SrIranganAthan oonjal pATTu of divya kavi piLLai perumAL ayyangAr and the SrIranganAyaki oonjal pATTu of SrI kOnEri appan ayyangAr. They lived in SrI rangam about 250 years ago.revanthv552 wrote: 10.tirunvaazha tiuyAzhi-ragamalika-??

Revanth,
Thanks for your postings. Vijay Siva's concert must have been a very good one. Seeing the list makes me feel that it was a concert not to be missed.
So nice to know that this all 'women organizers' concerts are part of the Hyderabad CM scene. One of the organizers gave me the print out about the series when she was in town. I was happy to realize that all office bearers of this cultural trust are women!
Hope you have done well in your exams.
