The most pleasing rendition IMO is by Pandit Omkarnath. Raga?

On the MSS version, I also thought of it as bhimplAs as Lakshman did but then it also evoked similarity with Dhanasri ( the famous thillana of Swathi thirunal ). Are these two ragas related?

Scale of rAgAs (from Raganidhi):
bhImpalAs: N2 S G2 M1 P N2 S / S N2 D1 P M1 G2 R2 S (vAdi is M, samvAdi is S)
dhanAshrI: N2 S G2 M1 P N2 S / S N2 D1 P M1 G2 R2 S(vAdi is P, samvAdi is S)
So the only difference between the two rAgAs is the vAdi svarA.

Thanks very much Lakshman.

This is a good teachable example to illustrate what the vAdi svarA differences mean when everything else is equal and how we can actually hear it in songs in these two ragas. Anyone?

Is this also similar to how bhupali and Deshkar are different, though they have the same arohana and avarohana? I heard that described as bhupali is a poorvanga pradhana raga( movements more prominent in the lower tetrachord ) and deshkar as "uttaranga-pradhana" raga (( movements more prominent in the lower tetrachord ). I do not know if this is related to the vadi-samvadi differences also.
