Very funny: Baby makes compelling argument

Superb performance! A born laywer! Look at the body language! His vocabulary is limited (naturally, he's only a toddler). but the grandeloquence!
I think all this because he's not in a mood to eat (snacked perhaps, close to dinner time). The moment he knows he's amusing, the entertainer in him emergesand he dances in front of the TV.
Seriously, if he makes a habit of this, it would do him good if one of the parents picked him up, looked him in the eye, put him down in that baby seat and said.: fine! We can have fun AFTER we have dinner. Then feed him, and of course make sure that they play with him to his heart's content after the meal. A hungry baby cannot be happy for long ;)
He's a charmer, alright!

You missed it...it is a she.

One comment had it spot on. She seemed to be saying something like... Dad and brother ate while I sat on the chair - the music got me...OK, I'm done with the explaining, if you want me, you'll find me dancing in the living room....until the child in her asserts and needs her mom.

Her name is Harini!

#5 27 Jul 2010 13:49     Re: Hilarious videos
I do have couple of observations...
- I felt the mother was bit too tough with the child. When Harini came to her for a hug, she moved away. I feel this is a no-no. (of course, she does give a hug right at the end.)
- it's fascinating how Harini is able to express so much without words! At what age do children normally start talking?

Its rasikas. Let's see how long it will be before someone pops up with the "child abuse" accusation :-)

#7 27 Jul 2010 20:37     Re: Hilarious videos
Sureshvv,
'Grandmother me' took the liberty to make some remarks about dinner time. Child rearing is one area where any amount of reading up or good counsel does not come in handy. Each child is a new book and as a parent, you learn as you go along. How many things 'they' teach us along the way! It's a partnership, the best there is where the investment is love and care.
Parents are role models (yes, we better remember that!) and the children are their own people who grow up hale and healthy in a nourishing environment.
Sorry about calling the lovely child a boy. I did not hear her name and she is wearing a onesie (under shirt) too.

r_t,
Some can speak phrases and even sentences before they are two. Some are slow starters in speech, however bright they are. Popular assumption is that girls start speaking earlier than boys ;) However, don't be fooled. The opposite proves to be true in some cases.

Very insightful presentation: Sheena Iyengar: The art of choosing
Don't miss the discussion at the end of her talk.

And here's a writeup on the lady: Sheena Iyengar
Very impressive indeed.

"At what age do children normally start talking?"

My daughter was just two at that time. I had gone on a long trip and returned home early one morning, around 5 am , having driven the whole night. My wife asked me to sleep in the spare bedroom in the fear that children once woken up, would come and disturb me in my normal bedroom. In spite of all this, I was woken up at around 6.30am with my daughter sitting on my chest, poking her little figner into my eyes and enquiring " are you cheeping"?. I woke up and asked her "how did you know dad has come back"? She replied......." I heard you cheeping" !!!

Amazing Roger Federer trickshot on Gillette ad shoot
Amazing! How is this trickshot done?

#18 22 Aug 2010 17:58     Re: Interesting videos
The unpublished works of Charlie Chaplin show some of the methods.Like in situation when someone hits the ground with an axe just mms away from Chaplins feet.. Those were first shot in the reverse and played forward. That is the axe on the ground is placed first , and then chaplins feet and so on.
This one was too fast to figure it out.Especially since the can was falling down even before he took aim.

Thanks Nick. Ravathi has added more elements to her routine.. She is so talented and funny. This is equal opportunity fun at the expense of all states, it should bring India together in laughter ;) I think she nailed the Malayali, Bengali and Telugu accents. The ustad bit is not bad either.
