First Sloka was composed by Valmiki Maharishi and appears in the Balakanda of Srimad Ramayanam.
kausalya - Daughter of King of Kosala Desha
supraja - O Glorius Son (In general Sanskrit it would be Good Son, but I have chosen Glorious Son since Rama is definitely better than being just good!), in tamizh this word would translate as nallamagan!
Rama - O Rama, One who delights every one (ramayati iti rAmaha)
purvasandhya pravartate - Meeting of light and darkness in the east has taken place (Essentially it is the Dawn Time)
uttistha - Please wake up
narasardula - Lion amongnst Men
kartavyam - Duty
daivam - Divine
ahnikam - Day-to-Day (Sandhyavandanam - Argya Pradanam to the Surya Devata literally "Savitrumandala Madhyavarthi Srimannnarayana" and Gayathri Japam!)
