Well versed in Hindustani and Carnatic music, Bhanumathi Ramakrishna was not only a wonderful singer, but a multi-talented personality. A leading actress, a director, and a producer, she was one of the pioneers of Telugu movie industry. That was nice! At first, in that distant shot, she looked a bit like Sowkar Janaki because she is slim here and that wig makes her look different, though her sweet voice is unmistakably hers from the very start.

I saw this film in tenkAsi bharathan theater as an elementary school boy along with my mother and siblings.
PB has also sung a western no.in this film when her daughter sulks about her singing when she tries hard to compose a song for her college function.I like PB in spite of her over acting.

Bhanumathy was a good singer besides being an actress. This is a good song by her. I have not seen this movie and she looks pretty.

Are you sure about Bhanumathi's over-acting? I have only seen her earlier films, so I don't know perhaps. To me, she was all exuberance and that was engaging.
Did Shivaji over-act? May be he did (all that old drama tradition). Yet, his hamming was worth a dozen Oscars or a Chevalier!
